Ethics of Publication
The Scientific Journal Unit at College of Arts/ Al-Iraqia University, is responsible for issuing the Midad AL-Adab Journal. The journal aims to provide equal opportunities for all researchers, where scientific research is accepted based on its intellectual content, regardless of the gender of its authors. Besides, it pays extra ordinary attention to the obligation of researchers towards ethics of publications where all researchers, reviewers and editors bear them in mind and their highest level of priority.
Researchers:
Researchers should ensure the authenticity of their research and its fulfillment of high professional and ethical standards. This results in the following points:
Honesty and accuracy in documenting data and results without fabrication or misleading details.
The researchers are arranged according to what came in the research, provided that the names are mentioned in the first sequence with an idea according to the level of the contribution of each of them, and it is the duty of the researcher who writes to the journal to make sure that all co-researchers are included, and that the names of researchers who are not participating in the research are not included.
Researchers must correctly indicate the researches resorted to in the body of the research in the bibliography.
Researchers should review their research according to the suggestions given by reviewers, and if the researcher does not agree to adopt the proposed amendments, he must provide the journal a logical justification for his views.
The research is subject to the plagiarism detection program (TURNITIN) to ensure that the rate of plagiarism, provided is below 20%. The researcher is obligated to pay the fees incurred in the evaluation procedures in the event of a request to withdraw the research, or wish not to follow up on evaluation procedures, or ignore it, taking into account some of the evaluation’s observations without taking them into account.
Reviewing Process and Reviewers
The journal considers the process of reviewing the scientific research in question by specialists as a major stage of scientific publishing, and it is the journal’s policy to ensure the professionalism of the work of the reviewers and their commitment to the journal’s ethical terms and conditions, and this entails the following points:
Research submitted for publication in the journal is subject to review by specialists.
In the event that the editorial board finds that the research submitted for publication is compatible with the journal’s publishing policies and the safety of scientific research procedures, the research is sent to two specialists (reviewers), to review it and write a detailed report on its safety and scientific originality, using a form dedicated for this purpose.
The editorial board deals with reviewers’ names and their reports in accordance with strict confidentiality, and does not reveal them except to the members of the board, who also deal with them confidentially.
The journal deals with researches submitted for publication in strict confidentiality during the process of reviewing and before publication.
In the event of a negative report from one of the reviewers, the research is sent in its original copy to a third reviewer to decide on its validity for publication.
Reviewers must investigate objectivity in judgments and results derived from the evaluation process.
Reviewers are supposed to distance themselves from personal interests.
They are supposed to pay attention to the fact that the research is free of plagiarism and they must refer to all published works that have been plagiarized in the body of the scientifically reviewed research.
Reviewers are supposed to abide by the time dedicated for the reviewing process.
Duplication of Research Presented to the Journal:
Researchers should not submit works previously published in other journals. Also, they should not submit their research to more than one journal at the same time; This is considered in the journal's view - unacceptable behavior, and contrary to the ethics of research and publication.
Researchers have the right to publish their research in other journals only after receiving an official refusal from the journal or if the journal officially approves the request to withdraw their submitted research.
Ethics of Publication:
The journal takes practical steps to prevent the publication of research in which violations related to research conduct have been committed, and in any case; The journal does not allow such behavior.
Copyright:
The copyright is transferred to the journal when the researcher is notified of the acceptance of his research submitted for publication in the journal.
Archiving:
The journal maintains hard copies and an electronic archive of the published issues and volumes.

The website of the journal shows the extent to which it observes high ethical and professional publishing standards.
The Schedule of Publication:
The journal adheres to the publication schedule; It publishes a volume of four issues per year in the following months (March-June-September-December).
Journal’s Name:
Midad Al-Adab Journal is a unique name for the Journal, and it cannot be easily confused with other journals.
