Abstract

This study assessed the effectiveness of integrating students with hearing impairment in curricular and extracurricular physical activities in public schools from physical education teachers’ point of view. The study sample consisted of 40 physical education teachers working in public schools of Al-Mazar Brigade in the northern of Jordan. A questionnaire was used to gather the views of respondents after verifing its validity and reliability.

The results showed a high level of effectiveness of integrating students with hearing impairment in sport activities classes and extracurricular in governmental schools from physical education teachers point of view. There were no significant differences in the degree of effectiveness of integrating students with hearing impairment in curricular and extracurricular physical activities in governmental schools due to gender, age, experience and educational qualification. The researcher recommended organizing training courses for teachers of students with hearing disabilities towards integration to spread the culture of integration in society.
