Abstract
The study aimed at identifying the prevailing philosophy among teachers of physical education in the directorates of education for the governorate of Mafraq from their point of view. The researcher used the descriptive approach and designed a 39-item questionnaire divided into four main dimensions: idealism, naturalism, realism, pragmatism). The study sample consisted of 77 teachers (32 male and 45 female); that is, 31% of the study population which included 246 teachers. The researcher used means, standard deviations, mono-variance analysis and Scheff'e test analysis.
The results found that the idealistic philosophy is the prevailing philosophy, where it came first with an average of 4.18 and a relative importance of 83.6. There were no significant differences attributed to the variables of the study (gender, educational level, years of experience and directorate), except in the field of pragmatic philosophy, in favor of females, and in favor of Derictorate of Eastern Badia.
