Abstract
The study aimed at identifying the Status quo of the social responsibility of the faculty members at the public Jordanian universities. The population of study consisted of faculty deans, heads of departments and faculty members in the public Jordanian universities for the year 2016/2017. To achieve the objective of the study, a questionnaire was developed, consisting of (60) items and distributed onto six domains. The validity of the tool was verified by presenting it to 13 experienced arbitrators. The reliability of the tool was also confirmed by using Kronbach Alpha equation, as the reliability coefficients for the tool areas ranged from 0.69 to 0.86. This questionnaire was distributed among the study sample of (974) deans, heads of departments and faculty members in the public Jordanian universities at three regions (north, middle and south).
Results of study showed that the status quo of the social responsibility of the faculty members in the public Jordanian universities was moderate. Besides, there were no significant differences attributed to the job title.
