Abstract

This study aimed at determining the extent of contribution of the Heads of Academic Departments at Yarmouk University in achieving the goals of the strategic plan (2016-2020) from the point of view of faculty members. The study also aimed at finding out statical differences between the means of study sample due to gender, academic rank and type of faculty. The study was conducted using a descriptive analytical approach based on the response of a random stratified sample of 244 members. A questionnaire that consisted of (90) statements distributed into four fields was developed and its validity and reliability were verified. The results indicated that there were statistical significant differences at all fields for the faculty ranking in favor of professor rank and no statically significant differences at all fields for the gender and the type of faculty variables. In light of the study results, it was recommended to develop training programs for the academic heads and the faculty members related to strategic planning.
