Abstract

This study aimed at identifying the level of psychological burnout among the third-class clubs of football in the north of Jordan and its relationship with some variables; training years and player position. It also aimed at identifying whether there were statistically significant differences in the level of psychological burnout among the third-class clubs of football in the north of Jordan due to these variables. The researchers employed the descriptive survey approach due to its compatibility to the study nature and objectives. The study sample consisted of (200) footballers who were chosen in the simple random method. The questionnaire was used as a method for data collection and (SPSS) software was used to analyze data. The results showed that the level of psychological burnout among the third class clubs of football in the north of Jordan was high and that there were statistically significant differences in the level of psychological burnout among the third class clubs of football in the north of Jordan according to the variable of training years in favor of 6 years training experience or more. Besides, the results revealed that there were no statistically significant differences in the level of psychological burnout among the third class clubs of football in the north of Jordan according to the variable of (the player position). The researchers recommended conducting protective psychological programs for the footballers in order to avoid psychological burnout.
