Abstract

This present study aimed at evaluating parents’ experiences in diagnosing their children with autism spectrum disorder in Jordan. The study sample consisted of (52) parents of children with autism spectrum disorder. To achieve the study objectives, the researchers translated and prepared a normative scale of parents experiences of children diagnosed with spectrum disorder. The validity and reliability of the instrument were verified. The results of the study showed a high level of experience of parents of children with autism spectrum disorder in Jordan with a total average of (3.69). The results also indicated that there were no statistically significant differences due to the educational level of the parents, the gender of the parents, or the economic status of the family.
