Abstract
The study aimed at recognizing the professional requirements for the selection of presidents of the Jordanian public universities according to the experiences of developed countries. To achieve the objective of study, the descriptive surveying method was employed and a questionnaire that consisted of (25) items had been developed with its validity and reliability assured. The questionnaires were distributed on the sample of the study which consisted of (186) academic leaders. The results of study showed that the degree of availability of the professional requirements for the selection of Presidents of Jordanian public universities according to the experiences of developed countries and from the point of view of the sample of study, were at a medium degree. The results also indicated that there were statistically significant differences among averages ascribed to the current work, in the field of personal ascribed to the dean and chair person, and in the field of administrative ascribed to the vice dean and chair person. Besides, it was indicated that there were statistically significant differences among averages ascribed to experience, in the field of administrative ascribed to the experienced leaders ; (5-10 years). The results also showed the professional requirements for the selection of presidents of Jordanian public universities according to the experiences of developed countries. In light of those results, the study invited the Jordanian public universities to adopt the professional requirements that the study had reached, and the truthfully announcement in all means of media about existence of vacancies to presidency of the Jordanian public universities.
