Abstract

Thisstudyaimedtoanalyzethecontentofthesciencebookforthefourthprimarygradeinaccordancewiththerequirementsofthetrendsin(TIMSS)orientationsstudy,andtoidentifythesimilaritiesanddifferencesintheareasofcontentandmentalprocesses.Thestudypopulationconsistsofallsubjectscontainedinthe(9)unitsofthesciencebookforfourthprimarygrade,whichiscomposedoftwoparts,(IandII),adoptedinPalestinianschools,comprisingsectionswhichincluded(34)topics.Theresearcheradoptedtheanalysiscontentmodelinaccordancewiththeprojectrequirements(TIMSS)in2011andperformedtheanalysisintwophasestocheckthereliabilityoftheanalysisprocess,whichamountedto(95%).Thestudyconcludedwithseveralresults,includingthatthecontentofsciencebookforfourthgradeintermsofcontentandmentalprocessesisnotcompatiblewiththerequirementsof(TIMSS).Therearealsovarioustopicsinthecontentofthetextbookthatdonotbelongtotherequirementsofthe(TIMSS).
