Abstract

Theaimofthisstudywastoassesstheeffectivenessofinstitutionsandcentersofspecialeducationaccordingtointernationalstandards.Thesampleofstudyconsistedof(53)Jordaniancentersandinstitutionswhichprovideeducationalprogramsandservicesforchildrenwithautism.Achecklistwasdevelopedtoassesstheleveloftheeducationalprogramsandserviceswhichconsistedof(77)itemsdistributedto(8)domains.Resultsshowedthattherewasonlyonedomainoutofeightwhichhadahighefficiencylevel,namely,programsandservices,whiletheotherthreedomainshadmediumefficiencylevelswhichare:educationalenvironment,assessment,andadministrationandstaff.Theotherfourdomainshadlowerefficiencylevelswhichare:visionandmission,familysupport,inclusionandtransitionalservices,andselfassessment.Keywords:institutionsandcentersofspecialeducation,autism,internationalstandards
