Abstract

Theaimofthestudywastoinvestigatetheeffectofusing4MATmodelonsixthgradestudents’achievementinscienceandtheirattitudestowardsit,inUNRWAfemaleschools,inJordan.Thesampleconsistedof(72)studentswhoweredividedintotwogroups,experimentalandcontrolgroups.Theexperimentalgroupwastaughtthelightunitby4MATmethod,whilethecontrolgroupwastaughtintheusualmethod.Anachievementtestandattitudescalewereappliedonthetwogroupsbeforeandaftertheteaching.Thestudyfoundthefollowingresults:♦♦Thereweresignificantdifferencesbetweenthetwogroupsinthescienceachievementtestinfavorofthe4MATgroup.♦♦Therewasasignificantdifferencebetweenthetwogroupsintheattitudestowardsscienceinfavorofthe4MATmethod.Theseresultscanbeattributedtothenatureofthe4MATmodelwhichtakesintoconsiderationthestudents’learningstyle,andthepatternofthetwohemispheresofthebrain.Thestudyrecommendsfurtherinvestigationandstudiesinthisareatoseetheeffectof4MATonotherdependentvariables.
