Abstract

This study sought to determine the level of acquisition of digital literacy skills among 8th grade students, in the light of the 21st century skills for science education, in al-Salt region in Jordan. The study sample, which consisted of 1070 male and female students from the 8th grade, was selected from al-Salt Directorate of Education. Data study were collected using digital literacy test after the validity and reliability of the test were established. The results of the study showed that the level of the students’ acquisition of digital literacy skills was low. Significant statistical differences were found in the level of the students’ acquisition of digital literacy skills due to the gender variable, in favor of female students, and due to academic achievement variable, in favor of high academic achievement, as well as the education sector variable, in favor of the private sector.
