Optimizing Students’ Benefit from Virtual Classes at Al-Quds Open University in Palestine
Abstract
This Action Research aimed at investigating the methods and proceduresthat help improve students’ benefits from virtual classes at Al Quds OpenUniversity, by realizing the reality of their use, and to identify the factors thathinder students from participating in the virtual classes or benefiting from theirrecordings, and then to follow procedures to address these factors. This actionresearch adopted both the quantitative and qualitative methods. The researchwas applied in the first and the second semesters of the academic year 2013-2014. The results of the study indicated the usefulness of the procedures usedto address the obstacles that hinder students from participating in the virtualclasses at the university and increase their effectiveness. Also, the results ofthe study showed a significant and considerable improvement in persuadingstudents with the importance of the virtual classes and their usefulness. Inaddition, the results indicated a remarkable increase in the number of theparticipants, and their willingness to watch the virtual class recordings
