Employment of Creative Thinking Skills by Preschool Teachers at Schools of Qanfada District
Abstract
This study sought to identify the practice degree of creative thinkingskills by kindergarten school teachers (N=206) within Qanfada SchoolDistrict. Participants were 80 female teachers selected randomly duringthe second semester of the academic year 2013/ 2014. To achieve the goalsof the study, a 49- item Creative Thinking Scale distributed on five domainswas developed. Results showed high employment degree of creativethinking skills on the overall instrument excluding originality whichwas moderately employed. Differences were in favor of fluency skill forteachers holding Diplomas compared with holder of Bachelors. However،there were no differences in employment of all skills on creative thinkingscale regarding educational qualifications and experiences, whereasdifferences were found in employment of the elaboration skill related tospecialization, with differences in favor of female teachers graduatedwith literary certificates in comparisons with those with child educationqualifications. Finally, there were no differences in the employment ofall skills on creative thinking skills scale related to specialization. Thisstudy recommends recruiting female teachers specialized in ChildrenEducation
