The main objective of this study is to identify the opinion of the facultymembers in some faculties of education in Sudan towards the role of theinformation technology and communication in the spread self learning.Toachieve this objective the researchers have designed a questionnaire whichfocused on the opinion of the faculty members about the effectiveness of theinformation technology and communication in self- learning programs.Afterevaluative procedures were applied to the questionnaire, the researchersdistributed (143) applications of the questionnaire among faculty members.Adescriptive analysis methodology has been used and different statistic analysislike 3- wayANOVA, Person correlation coefficient and Dennett’s C test toanalyse the data.The following results have been achieved: 1- The studyrevealed the existence of positive opinions towards the role of the informationtechnology and communication in the spread of self learning among the facultymembers in faculties of education in the Sudan universities.This difference isin favor among the faculty members in the University of Khartoum.2- Theresearch exposed the existence of significant statistical differences among theopinion of the faculty members towards the role of the information technologyand communcation in the spread of self learning forms due to the variousuniversities.The most important recommendation is the need for a properunderstanding of instructional technology as the foundation upon which therecruitment process of the information and communication technology in theself learning.
