Abstract
This study aimed to reveal the degree of irrational beliefs and theirrelationship to the emotional response among Yarmouk University studentsin light of some variables.A sample of (1713) university students (4.84%)completed the irrational believes questionnaire and the emotional responsescale.The results showed that the degree of irrational beliefs among thestudents was medium (3.37) , while the level of emotional response was high(3.62) .There is a significant difference between the means of the irrationalbeliefs and the emotional response and their dimensions due to gender infavor of females and due to the college in favor of scientific college students.Finally, the results showed a significant correlation between irrationalbeliefs and their dimensions, and between the emotional response and itsdimensions.Based on these findings, the researcher recommends to focuson a preventive guidance programs that aims to develop the rational andlogical thinking among university students as part of personal upbringingand mental health programs.
