The Effect of therapeutic drama program in improving self- concept among visually impaired children
Abstract
The study aimed at identifying the effect of therapeutic drama program in improving selfconcept among visually impaired children. The sample of study consisted of (30) visually impaired children, in Abdullah ibn Umm Maktum School for the blind in Amman. They were distributed in purpose into two groups equally, one experimental (15) male and female and (15) male and female is control , The scale of (Piers- Harris) to the self- concept, was applied on the two groups, the training program of the therapeutic drama was applied only on the experimental group members, while the control group members received the traditional program. The training program was applied in (12) a session, ranged between (40- 45) minutes. The study showed the following 1. There are statistically significant differences at level (a=0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental group and control group on the scale in its sub- areas in favor of the experimental group after applying the program. 2. There are no statistical interaction at level (a =0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental group and control group on the scale and child sex after applying the program. 3. There are no statistical interaction at level (a =0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental group and control group on the scale and Degree of disability totally blind and low vision) after applying the program. )
