The Effect of Types of Brain Dominance on Mental Imagery among Yarmouk University Students
Abstract
This study aimed to reveal the effect of typesof Brain dominance on mental imagery amongYarmouk University students. The sample of thestudy consisted of (500) male and female studentsfrom scientific and humanitarian faculties studentsfrom Yarmouk University. To achieve the objectivesof the study the researcher used two instruments:mental imagery scale, and Herman instrument tobrain dominance. The results of the study showedthat the (D) (the region of higher right quarter)type was in first rank, while the (A) (the region ofhigher left quarter) type was in last rank, and theresults of the study indicated there were statisticallysignificant differences in mental imagery, attributedto type of brain dominance in all the sub skills,except of flexibility skill, and there were statisticallysignificant differences attributed to the gender, infavor of the females, and there were statisticallysignificant differences attributed to the reactionbetween type of brain dominance and the gender, infavor of the males in (A) (the region of higher leftquarter) , and (B) (the region of lower left quarter) ,and favor of the females in (D) (the region of higherright quarter) , and (C) (the region of lower rightquarter).
