Abstract
The study aimed to explore the inclusion level of the concepts of intellectual security in the civic and national education textbooks for upper elementary stage in Jordan. To achieve the objective of the study, the two Researchers applied the analytical descriptive method through analyzing the content of national and civic education textbooks for grades 8, 9, and 10. The study tool was developed based on educational literature and previous relevant studies and the validity and reliability of the tool were verified. In the light of this, the content of the books of national and civic education for the upper elementary stage was analyzed. The results showed that the highest level of including concepts of intellectual security is within the national and civic education textbook of the 10th grade as it included 581 concepts which is 46.40%, while the lowest inclusion was in the national and civic education textbooks for the 9th grade which included 247concepts that is (19.72%). The study concluded a number of recommendations, among which: The authors of the civic and national textbooks need more attentionto consider the concepts of intellectual security which were developed and the importance of including concepts of intellectual security in the textbooks of upper elementary stage. They need also to focus more on those concepts to protect the students in the light of the proliferation of terrorist and extremist organizations.
