Instructions to Authors
Submission and Evaluation Process for JJOAS-H
Submissions and evaluations are managed through the JJOAS-H online system. The entire process typically takes 40 to 90 days and follows a double-blind peer-review procedure. In this process, the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed from one another.
To facilitate this, authors are required to submit the manuscript and the title page as two separate files in Microsoft Word format:
- Title Page: This must include the authors' names in order, their affiliations, and contact details.
- Anonymized Manuscript: The manuscript should exclude all identifying information, such as author names and affiliations, to ensure the double-blind review process is maintained.
Title Page Requirements:
The title page must include:
- Article Title: Titles should be concise, informative, and free of abbreviations or formulae unless commonly recognized (e.g., DNA).
- Author(s) Name(s): List all authors by first and last names, ensuring the correct spelling. You may also include the author's name in their native script in parentheses after the English version, if applicable.
- Affiliation(s): Provide affiliation details for each author using a lower-case superscript letter to link the author to their affiliation. Include the full postal address and email address for each affiliation.
- Corresponding Author: Clearly identify the corresponding author and include their current contact details.
- Present/Permanent Address: If an author has changed addresses since conducting the research, include a footnote with the present address, but list the main affiliation where the research was conducted.
Anonymized Manuscript Specifications:
To ensure a proper double-blind review process, the manuscript should exclude any identifying details such as:
- Author names
- Affiliations
- References to authors’ own work (self-citations) should be minimized, and all identifying information, including figures and tables, should be anonymized.
General Manuscript Guidelines:
- Word Limit: The manuscript should be between 4,000 and 8,000 words, including references.
- Self-Citations: Self-citations must not exceed 20%.
- Title Length: The title should not exceed 20 words.
- Abstract Length: The abstract must not exceed 300 words (see details below).
- Font Type:
- Arabic: Calibri
- English: Mongolian Baiti
- Font Size:
- Manuscript: 12
- Main Titles: 14 (bold)
- Subtitles: 12 (bold)
- Table and Figure Titles: 12 (bold)
- Table Content: 11
- Paragraph Indentation: Indent the first line of each paragraph.
- Reference List: Use hanging indentation for references.
- Reference Style: APA 7th Edition (See details below).

Abstract and Keywords:
Abstract:
- Provide a concise and factual abstract between 150-300 words in both Arabic and English. The abstract should clearly present the purpose, significant results, and conclusions of the study.
- The abstract should stand alone, as it might be presented separately from the article.
- Avoid citing references in the abstract; if necessary, cite them by author and year.
- Use of non-standard abbreviations should be minimized, with definitions provided at first mention.
Keywords:
- Include 3-7 keywords in both Arabic and English for indexing purposes. Avoid multi-word phrases unless they are standard terms in the field. Abbreviations should be well-established.
Submission Checklist: Before submitting, ensure the following:
- The corresponding author is clearly designated with their complete contact details.
- Submit the manuscript in an editable Word format (.doc/.docx), not a PDF.
- Include all necessary files, such as keywords, figure captions, and tables.
- Perform thorough spelling and grammar checks.
- Verify that all references are correctly cited within the manuscript and listed in the reference section.
- Obtain permissions for any copyrighted material.
- Be aware that all papers are published as open access, and authors are responsible for the Article Processing Charges (APC), which may be covered by the corresponding author's institution or funder.
Article Processing Charges (APC)
The Jordan Journal of Applied Science Humanities Series charges a publication fee of 200US dollars for each article accepted for publication. This fee helps cover the costs associated with the open access publication process, including peer review, editing, and online hosting.
ORCID Integration in Our Journal
We are committed to enhancing the visibility and accessibility of our authors' work. As part of this commitment, we have integrated ORCID IDs into our journal's metadata. We strongly encourage all authors to provide their ORCID ID during the submission process.
Through including ORCID IDs:
- We ensure accurate author identification and attribution.
- We enhance the discoverability of our authors' publications.
- We contribute to an interconnected scholarly communication ecosystem.
Please include your ORCID ID in your submission to assist us in maintaining high standards of authorship integrity and visibility.
Copyright Notice
This journal allows and encourages authors to promote their submissions and published works on personal websites or within relevant institutional repositories, whether before or after publication, especially when such promotion is accompanied by a detailed presentation (if possible) that enhances the value of publishing in this journal.
Privacy Statement
The names of people and email addresses that are saved on this site will be used exclusively for the purposes stipulated by the journal and will not be available for any other purposes or for any third party.
Ethical Approval for Research Involving Human or Animal Participants
Prior to submission, all research involving human or animal participants must obtain ethical approval from the appropriate Institutional Review Board (IRB), Ethics Committee, or Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). Authors must submit documentation of this approval with their manuscript. This documentation should clearly state the name and contact information of the approving body, the approval date, and the approval number. Manuscripts must also describe how all ethical standards were followed (including informed consent for human participants and adherence to appropriate animal care guidelines), regardless of the source of these standards. The APA Publication Manual (7th ed., 2020) offers guidance on reporting such research.
Data Availability Statement
To ensure transparency and reproducibility, authors must provide a data availability statement outlining how the supporting data for this study can be accessed. This statement should be included as a separate section within the manuscript before the references. If data is not publicly available, authors must clearly explain why, specifying the reasons (e.g., ethical restrictions related to privacy or confidentiality, legal restrictions, or data size limitations preventing public deposition).
Funding Disclosure
Authors are required to clearly disclose any funding sources that supported their research. This includes detailing the name(s) of the funding organization(s) and grant numbers, if applicable. If the research did not receive any specific grant from funding agencies, authors should state 'No funding was received for this study'. This transparency is essential for maintaining the integrity of the research published in our journal.
Author Contribution Statement
All authors listed on a manuscript must provide specific contributions to the work. Each author should clearly outline their role, which may include, but is not limited to, the following areas:
- Conceptualization: Formulating the ideas and objectives of the research.
- Data Curation: Collecting and maintaining the data involved in the study.
- Methodology: Designing and developing the research methods employed.
- Investigation: Conducting experiments, surveys, or other research activities to gather data.
- Software: Developing or contributing to software tools or scripts used in the research.
- Resources: providing resources that are essential for conducting the research.
- Project Administration: Authors who contribute in this way manage the project logistics, ensuring that it progresses smoothly and meets deadlines.
- Validation: Authors contribute by reviewing the data and results to ensure that they are consistent and correctly reported. This may include cross-checking findings with additional analyses or re-running experiments to confirm outcomes.
- Visualization: Creating figures, graphs, or other visual representations of the data.
- Writing - Original Draft Preparation: Creating the initial version of the manuscript.
- Writing - Review and Editing: Revising and refining the manuscript based on feedback.
- Supervision: Overseeing the research processes and ensuring adherence to ethical standards.
- Funding Acquisition: Securing financial support for the research.
- Formal Analysis: Performing statistical analyses and interpretations of the data to support the research findings.
It is mandatory that all authors contribute to the drafting and writing processes of the manuscript. This ensures that all parties are accountable for the content and integrity of the work presented. This Author Contribution Statement is usually added before the reference list at the end of the manuscript.
Declaration of interest’s statement\ Conflicts of Interest Statement
Authors must also declare that they have no competing interests related to the submitted work. This declaration should appear in the published work and should be placed in a new section before the references list.
Declaration of Generative AI in Scientific Writing
Authors must disclose the use of any AI tools in the research and writing process, including but not limited to those used for literature reviews, data analysis, text generation, or editing. The authors should clearly specify the AI tools utilized, the specific tasks they performed, and the reasons for their use (e.g., proofreading). Authors retain full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and ethical implications of the submitted work. Following AI tool use, authors must review and revise the generated content to ensure accuracy, originality, proper attribution, and adherence to all journal guidelines and ethical standards. AI and AI-assisted technologies should not be listed or cited as authors or co-authors on the manuscript. Authorship implies intellectual contributions, critical judgment, and accountability, which can only be assumed by human researchers. Any instances of plagiarism or other breaches of ethical conduct will result in rejection of the manuscript. The statement will appear in the published work and should be placed in a new section before the references list. An example:
Title of new section: Declaration of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process.
Statement: During the preparation of this work the author(s) used [NAME TOOL / SERVICE] in order to [REASON]. After using this tool/service, the author(s) reviewed and edited the content as needed and take(s) full responsibility for the content of the published article.
The declaration does not apply to the use of basic tools, such as tools used to check grammar, spelling and references. If you have nothing to disclose, you do not need to add a statement.
