Abstract

This study aimed to develop a training program for secondary school principals based on the principles of human performance technology and to assess its construct validity. The population of the study consisted of all secondary school principals in the capital, Amman, who were working during the 2010-2011 academic year, totaling 395 according to the Ministry of Education's statistics for that year. The sample comprised 220 principals, who were randomly selected. To collect data, the researchers developed a questionnaire to determine the extent to which secondary school principals apply human performance technology, which was distributed to the study population. The results indicated that the status of human performance technology application in Jordanian schools, according to the secondary school principals, was moderate, with an average score of 3.41 and a standard deviation of 0.53. Based on these results, the researchers developed a training program for secondary school principals aimed at improving performance levels and bridging the gap between actual and desired performance. The researchers recommend implementing this program within the Ministry of Education.
