Abstract

This study aimed to determine the extent to which physics textbooks include the basic and integrated science processes found in the scientific activities for ninth and tenth grades in Jordan. The study population consisted of all the scientific activities included in the physics textbooks for the ninth and tenth grades in Jordan for the academic year 2017/2018. The sample of the study was drawn from this population. Operational definitions for each of the basic and integrated science processes were provided. An analysis tool was developed to assess basic and integrated science process skills, with the activity used as the unit of analysis. The activities were then divided into a set of skills and analyzed based on the prepared analysis tool. The study revealed that there was a difference in the percentage of science process skills in basic and integrated skills.
