Abstract

This study aimed to discover the effect of computerized learning on the achievement of first-grade students in the study of the Arabic language in Jordan. To achieve the objective of this study, the researcher developed a computerized educational program and an achievement test that measures the reading and writing skills of first-grade students. The results of this study were verified. The study sample consisted of 60 first-grade students during the first semester of 2018-2019. They were divided into two groups, each consisting of 30 students. A semi-experimental method was used to organize the sample into two groups: one group was taught using the traditional method, while the other group was taught using educational software. The results showed statistically significant differences at the level of 0.05 in the achievement of first-grade students in the Arabic language (reading and writing) in favor of the teaching method that utilized educational software. The study recommends generalizing the experience of using educational software applied to Arabic language students across various subjects, leveraging the positive impact of educational software on student achievement. Additionally, it suggests conducting new studies with different designs and measurement tools to investigate the effect of using educational software in various subjects and levels of study.
