Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the impact of organizational learning on entrepreneurial orientation in Jordanian pharmaceutical manufacturing companies. The study measured organizational learning based on two dimensions: adaptive learning and generative learning. Entrepreneurial orientation was assessed using four dimensions: proactiveness, innovativeness, risk-taking, and competitive aggressiveness. The study population consisted of 907 managers across all managerial levels in the surveyed companies, and a stratified random sampling method was employed. A comprehensive survey was conducted, with 274 questionnaires distributed, and 222 valid questionnaires were retrieved for statistical analysis. An analytical descriptive approach was used to achieve the study’s objectives, along with several statistical methods, most notably simple and multiple regression analysis. The study yielded numerous results, the most significant of which are: high levels of organizational learning (both adaptive and generative) and high levels of entrepreneurial orientation. Specifically, high levels were observed in proactiveness, innovativeness, and competitive aggressiveness, while risk-taking was at a moderate level. The results demonstrated a positive and significant impact of organizational learning on entrepreneurial orientation. Based on these findings, the researchers proposed several recommendations to assist the management of Jordanian pharmaceutical manufacturing companies in enhancing organizational learning and entrepreneurial orientation. It was advised that they focus on strengthening the strategic aspect of implementing entrepreneurial orientation across all its dimensions (proactiveness, innovativeness, risk-taking, and competitive aggressiveness).
