Abstract
The study mainly aimed to identify the attitudes of graduate students in Jordanian universities toward using traditional and electronic sources when visiting university libraries. It also sought to reveal any statistically significant differences in their attitudes based on variables such as gender, course, and university. To achieve these objectives, a descriptive survey approach was employed to collect data and information from graduate students across Jordanian universities. The questionnaire served as the main tool for data collection. The sample was selected using the proportional stratified sampling method and consisted of 220 male and female students from three Jordanian universities: The University of Jordan, Yarmouk University, and Hussein Bin Talal University. Both descriptive and analytical statistical methods were used to interpret and analyze the data. The results indicated that the overall attitude of graduate students in Jordanian universities toward using traditional sources in university libraries was moderate, with a mean score of 3.282. The findings also showed that students held high attitudes toward the negatives of using traditional sources, with some of the most important being the increased time and effort required to obtain information, as well as the lack of references, books, and modern research sources when relying on traditional resources in university libraries. Conversely, the overall attitude of graduate students toward using electronic resources in university libraries was high, with a mean score of 3.811. This positive attitude was attributed to factors such as the ease of accessing the library website from anywhere, the use of electronic databases for searching and retrieving information, and the opportunity to collaborate with international libraries that offer additional resources to users.
