Abstract
This study aimed to analyze the content of social media in various sports institutions from the perspective of the sports community. The researchers employed a descriptive analytical approach to align with the study's objectives. A questionnaire was designed as the study tool to collect data. The study sample consisted of 315 members of the sports community in Jordan, and the SPSS statistical package was used for data analysis. The most prominent findings of the study were as follows: It was found that the sports community heavily relies on social media as a source for sports news due to its immediate and rapid dissemination of news and events. The duplication of sports news in different formats on social media decreases the credibility of institutional websites, leading to reduced reliance on them as a source of sports news by the sports community. The researchers recommend that sports institutions publish concise and direct content suitable for smartphone applications and develop their own mobile applications to enhance interaction and communication with followers. Additionally, institutions should establish a dedicated team specializing in social media. They must engage with the community by covering all sports news and focusing on quickly conveying accurate and reliable information, as this is crucial for maintaining trust among the sports community.
