Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the free reading strategy in developing creative reading skills among tenth-grade female students in Jordan. To achieve the study's aims, the researchers prepared a creative reading skills test consisting of 16 items distributed across creative reading dimensions: fluency, originality, flexibility, and elaboration. The study sample comprised 60 tenth-grade female students, selected using the available method, with 30 students in the control group taught by the conventional method and 30 in the experimental group taught using the free reading strategy. The results of the study indicated that there were statistically significant differences in creative reading skills and its dimensions between the experimental and control groups, attributed to the teaching strategy, favoring the experimental group taught using the free reading strategy.
