Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of the Ketso strategy in improving critical reading skills among preparatory stage students in Iraq. The study employed a quasi-experimental design. Two groups of students participated in the study: an experimental group of 33 students taught using the Ketso strategy, and a control group of 32 students taught using conventional methods. To collect research data, critical reading skills tests were developed and utilized. The results of the study indicated that the Ketso strategy had a statistically significant effect at the significance level of (α = 0.05) on improving critical reading skills, favoring the students in the experimental group. Based on the results, the researchers recommended that Arabic language teachers employ the Ketso strategy in teaching Arabic language skills across various educational stages.
