Abstract

This study aimed to examine the impact of information technology (IT) on the performance of the Jordan Food and Drug Administration in terms of hardware and equipment, software, networks, and human resources. The study specifically focused on the balanced scorecard dimensions of learning and growth, internal operations, and customer satisfaction. The mediating role of knowledge management processes was also considered. The study utilized a quantitative descriptive analytical approach to achieve its objectives. The study population consisted of the Jordanian Food and Drug Administration and its five branches. The sampling unit included individuals in positions such as general manager, directorate/unit director, department head, and division head, totaling 133 participants. To collect the necessary data, a questionnaire was used. After conducting statistical analysis, the main results of the study revealed a statistically significant impact of IT (hardware, software, networks, and human resources) on performance (learning and growth, internal processes, and customer satisfaction) through knowledge management processes in the Food and Drug Administration. Based on these findings, it is recommended that the Jordanian Food and Drug Administration maintains the effective implementation of information technology.
