Abstract

The purpose of the study to explore level of psychological health domains among abused Syrian refugees. To achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive survey method was used, and the mental health scale was administrated the study sample consisted of 300 abused female Syrian refugees. Validity and reliability of the scale was checked. The findings of the study showed that; the level of the (depression and anxiety) domains in the mental health scale of the abused female Syrian refugees' sample were high, while the mean of (positive influence and behavior control) domains was within an average level. Further, there were no significant statistical differences between the means of the mental health domains among abused female Syrian refugees attributed to relatives' marriage variable. There were no significant statistical differences between the means of (behavior control) domain among abused female Syrian refugees attributed to the nature of the residence. there were no significant statistical differences between the means of (anxiety, depression, behavior control) among abused female Syrian refugees attributed to type of violence variable. Meanwhile, there were significant statistical differences between the means of (positive effect) among abused female Syrian refugees attributed to type of violence in favor of physical and psychological violence compared to economic violence. Moreover, there were significant statistical differences between the means of (anxiety, depression, positive effect) attributed to residence nature in favor of independent residence in (anxiety and depression) domains and for residence with family in favor of (positive effect). Based on the findings the study presented several recommendations such taking care of abused Syrian female refugees through conducting counseling programs supervised by international and public organizations to reduce (depression, anxiety) and raise their level (positive influence and behavior control).
