Abstract
The study aimed to identify the degree of inclusion of concepts of intellectual content in Arabic language books for the basic stage in Jordan by analyzing their content, using a descriptive analytical approach. A structured content analysis checklist was developed as the main tool to assess the presence of specific intellectual content concepts within the curricula. The inclusion of elements was not based on a specific criterion in the distribution, as there were significant differences between the content elements across grades. For example, sixth grade contained 800 elements, which increased to 1,235 elements in seventh grade, but decreased significantly to 640 elements in eighth grade. The study recommended several measures, most notably the importance of advanced planning to develop intellectual content suitable for learners. Additionally, it emphasized the need for Arabic language authors to pay attention to the intellectual content, as prepared by the two researchers, by including it in the basic stage curricula.
