Abstract
Distance education encourages self-learning among learners. Self-learning in general seeks to achieve goals related to changing the learner's behavior. Learners have different traits embellished by a pool of learning styles. Thus, teachers should use different learning strategies compatible with the educational goals, learning styles and personality dimensions. In order to achieve this goal, other issues need to be tackled such as, conveying certain basic information, developing specific skills, instilling the habits of self-learning, and assisting learners in choosing and organizing their own academic subjects, besides instilling the skill of self-expression among learners. All these goals mean that the learners’ traits should be re-shaped.
