Abstract
The main Objective of this study is to identify the current situation ofapplying instructional technology in distance learning in the faculties ofeducation in Sudan, which adopted distance-learning system, and identifythe opinion of the acadmic staff members towards the importance of utilisingthis technology in the syllabus. To achieve this objective the researcherdesigned questionnaire aimed at understanding the present utilization of theinstructional technology in distance learning programs by colleges applyingthis method. After evaluative procedures were applied to the questionnaire,the researcher distributed it among thirty-two acadmic staff members. Adescriptive analytical methodology was used and different statistic analysislike t-test, Person correlation coefficient and ANOVA to analyse the data. Thefollowing results have been achieved:1. The study revealed the existence of negative opinions towards utilizationof the instructional technology in distance learning programs amongthe acadmic staff members in faculties of education in the Sudanuniversities.2. The study disclosed that the current distance learning program is in anunderdeveloped stage according to the opinion of acadmic staff memberswhich does not presently allow to employ this type of technology.At the end of the study, a number of recommendations has been giventhat may help in solving the research problem as well as proposing a group ofsuggestions for future studies in the same field
