Abstract
This study aimed to identify the degree to which the Public Relations and Media Department of the Public Security Directorate has achieved the objectives of security awareness from the perspective of Jordanian university youth. The study adopted a descriptive survey approach. The researchers prepared a questionnaire to measure the degree of achievement of the security awareness objectives by the Public Relations and Media Department. The study population consisted of all students at the University of Jordan and Yarmouk University, while the sample included 822 male and female students, who were selected using a convenient random sampling method. The results indicated that the degree to which the Public Relations and Media Department of the Public Security Directorate achieved the objectives of security awareness, from the viewpoint of Jordanian university youth, was rated as high. The findings revealed statistically significant differences in this degree based on the variable of gender, favoring females, while no statistically significant differences were found based on the variables of university type or academic year. The researchers recommend that the Department of Public Relations and Information establish dialogue committees with students to foster a sense of love for the homeland and to maintain a safe, scientific, and intellectual dialogue among them, grounded in acceptance of differing opinions.
