Abstract
This study aimed to identify the role of university administration in applying administrative foundations for institutional development in Jordanian universities in light of distance education, from the perspective of academic leaders. The descriptive survey approach was used, and the study sample consisted of 170 academic leaders; a questionnaire was utilized as the study tool. The results indicated that the role of university administration in applying administrative methods for institutional development in Jordanian universities, considering distance education, was rated highly. The findings also showed statistically significant differences attributed to the gender variable, favoring females, while no significant differences were found regarding the variables of university type, academic rank, or college. The study recommended the importance of clearly defining the mechanisms used and implementing continuous and effective supervision to achieve a genuine application of the administrative foundations for institutional development, fostering positive change, and ensuring adherence to institutional objectives.
