Abstract

This study aimed to identify the degree of contribution of educational supervision in enabling teachers to develop teaching competencies from the perspective of English language teachers in the schools of the Northern Mazar Directorate of Education. The study population consisted of male and female English language teachers in the Northern Mazar District, totaling 134 teachers. The participants numbered 111 male and female teachers. The study instrument was a questionnaire consisting of 28 items, divided into three domains: planning for teaching, evaluation, and developing professional relationships in the school environment. The study showed that the degree of educational supervision's contribution to enabling teachers to develop teaching competencies was high, and that the educational supervisor played a significant role in supporting teachers in the domains of planning for teaching and evaluation, as well as in developing professional relationships in the school environment. Based on these findings, the study offers several recommendations and suggestion.
