Abstract

The study aimed to identify the role of educational councils in facilitating school administration work in public schools in Ajloun Governorate as perceived by school principals. The study population consisted of all public-school principals in Ajloun Governorate during the academic year 2021-2022, which included 128 principals. The study sample consisted of 104 principals, chosen by simple random sampling. The descriptive survey method was used, and a questionnaire served as the data collection tool to achieve the study's objectives. The results showed that the role of educational councils in facilitating school administration work in Ajloun Governorate was perceived by school principals to be at an average level. Specifically, the domain of “administration’s relationship with parents” was identified, and there were no statistically significant differences in the average estimates of the study sample members attributable to variables such as gender, years of experience, and type of school across all domains and in the overall degree, except for the domain of management’s relationship with parents, where differences favored those with qualifications higher than a high diploma. Considering the results, several recommendations were made, including activating the role of educational councils in organizing training workshops in schools to develop teachers' skills, particularly in the domain of information technology.
