Abstract

The purpose of the study is to investigate the degree to which the Arab Reading Challenge project achieved the reading comprehension skills of students from the perspective of Arabic language teachers in the Bani Obaid District Directorate. The study followed the descriptive survey method through a questionnaire that consisted of (30) items and distributed to a sample of (200) male and female teachers. The results showed that the arithmetic averages ranged between (3.19-3.29) with a medium degree of appreciation, where the level of literal comprehension came in the first rank, while the level of gastronomic comprehension came in the last rank. Further, there were no significant statistical differences in the perceptions of the sample members due to the effect of gender, and there were significant statistical differences in the perceptions of the study sample members due to the effect of educational qualification, while it was found that there were significant statistical differences in the perceptions of the study sample members due to the effect of experience between less than 5 years and more than 10 years The differences were in favor of more than 10 years.
