Abstract

The research aimed to measure the level of Jordanian school principals' practice of crisis management from the teachers’ perspective. Descriptive survey approach was used, and data was collected by using closed-ended survey instrument that measures the level of principals' practice in crisis management. The study sample consisted of (338) teachers from public and private schools in Madaba city were randomly chosen. The results revealed that the level of principals’ practice in crisis management was medium, and there were differences with regard to the variable of supervisory authority in favor of private schools and there were differences with regard to the variable of gender in favor of males, also there were differences with regard to the variable of experience for those more than 10 years. While it was found that there were no statistically significant differences at the significance level (α = 0.05) according to the educational qualification variable. The researchers recommended enhancing the awareness of public and private school principals in Madaba in particular and Jordan in general of the importance of crisis management and prior planning, and their role in resolving and overcoming crises in the school environment before, during and after their occurrence, and providing school principals with a guide on how to prepare a risk management plan and crisis management strategies, in addition to spreading the culture of educational crisis management among employees of the Ministry of Education, especially among teachers, through holding courses Training and seminars
