Abstract
This study aimed to identify the impact of an educational program based on the use of active learning strategy and on the correlation between the types of Imagination thinking and the digital achievement of the high jump efficiency for students of the athletics course (2) at the University of Jordan 2016/2017. The sample consisted of (34) students of the course of athletics (2), which were divided into two groups: experimental group and the other control group with (17) students per group. The learning program was implemented using an active learning strategy (discussion, dialogue, collaborative learning, and problem solving) The students of the experimental group who study the high jump activity for eight weeks and two training units per week, and the control group has been subjected to the usual method of teaching. In order to collect the data, a tool was designed to measure the types of Imagination thinking and measure the level of achievement in accordance with the rules of the International Federation of Athletics and with the strategy of active learning and athletics events. The results of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences between the two groups in the fields of Imagination thinking which has the best arithmetic mean compared to the control group averages. The researchers are recommended to allow students to use an active learning strategy in teaching and conduct similar studies on the impact of active learning strategies based on reflective thinking patterns during group and individual learning with different stages and artistic characteristics than athletics.
