Abstract

The study aimed at identifying the followership styles as perceived by Faculty members at the universities of Northern Jordan and their relationship with some variables which included (gender, years of experience, academic rank, university sector and college). The descriptive approach was employed and a random stratified sample of 310 faculty members in public and private universities in North Jordan were administered a questionnaire of 20 items after subjecting it to the validity and reliability tests. The results revealed that the exemplary behavior was the most prevalent followed by the pragmatic. The findings also showed that the Followership styles were independent of gender, years of experience, university sector and type of college. The findings revealed a statistically significant difference at (0.05=α) that could be attributed to the academic rank. Accordingly, the study recommended conducting further research on the followership styles on different samples and by utilizing other research tools to arrive at more understanding on the subject.
