Abstract
This study aimed to explore levels of psychological stress and its relation to skill performance in high jump event for physical education students at Yarmouk University. The researchers used the descriptive approach for the purpose of the study. The sample of the study consisted of (114) male and female students of the physical education college registered in track and field class as for the second semester 2016/2017. In order to measure psychological stress, a modified questionnaire of Al-Oran, 2007 consisted of 40 items was used. The questionnaire measures two domains, internal and external stresses. Results showed that students are facing high psychological stresses. Furthermore, a significant negative relationship between stress and performance was found. on the other hand, no significant difference were found among male and female in students related to psychological stress in general.
