Abstract

The study aimed to identify the level of collective cohesion in the course of popular games and games of collective games (basketball and handball) among the students of the Faculty of Physical Education at the University of Jordan on the sample number of (125) students. The researcher used the descriptive method in his survey Using the collective cohesion scale designed by Abdellatif (2007), based on the Karun et al. (1989) study, it was modified to be 32 paragraphs divided into four fields: (sense of belonging and belonging to the community), (satisfaction of social needs of the member of the group) (And the Engagement of group work within the group) and (the existence of standards, values and rules which govern the group organization). The study showed that the level of collective cohesion in the folk and small games was high and showed that the level of collective cohesion in the group games (basketball and handball) was high, in addition to the existence of statistically significant differences in the level of collective cohesion between the folk and small games, the collective games (basketball and handball) to the favour of the popular games and small games The researcher recommends the necessity of preservation and maintenance of the popular and small games course as an optional requirement for students of the Faculty of Physical Education at the University of Jordan. And to vary the methods and ways of teaching to continue and preserve the level of collective cohesion among students of the Faculty of Physical Education.
