Abstract

This study aimed to identify the effect of a proposed training program on some special Physical fitness elements and some anthropometric measurements in short distance running players and for the purpose of the study, the researcher designed a training program consisting of (24) training units distributed over (8) weeks were applied during the first semester of the academic year (2017-2018). The sample consisted of (120) students of the Faculty of Physical Education at Yarmouk University divided into two groups, experimental group consisted of (60) students and control group of (60). Pre-test and post-test for short distances were performed. Then the two groups were compared using t. test. The results showed that there were significant differences in favor of the experimental group that received the proposed physical fitness program that included elements of physical fitness (flexibility, strength, speed endurance, endurance, and agility), also showed that the tall player has positively effects on the level of performance in the short distances. The researcher recommended using planned fitness programs based on modern training methods to develop fitness elements.
