Abstract
This study aimed to measure the cognitive outcome in the methodology of scientific research for graduate students in colleges of physical education in the master's program in Jordanian universities, and to know the difference in responses according to the gender variable and the hours cut in the program, The descriptive approach was used by applying a cognitive test in scientific research to a sample of (124) students from the master's program in the colleges of physical education in Jordanian universities, and the data was analyzed through the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) program, The results showed that the cognitiveoutcome was low in the methodology of scientific research for masters students; the highest was in the field of theoretical literature and previous studies with an average degree, then the field of results and the definition of study at an acceptable level, while in the fields of documentation and procedures, both of them were of a low degree, and responses did not differ between males and females except for the field of documentation was in favor of females, as well as responses did not differ according to the hours cut; except for the field of theoretical literature and previous studies was in favor of students who traveled (21) hours and more, The study recommended that additional courses be offered in the methodology of scientific research in postgraduate programs, especially in the Master's program.
