Abstract
The current study aimed to verify the effectiveness of a group counseling program based on cognitive-behavioral theory in reducing burnout among the nursing team in the intensive care unit at Al-Hussein Medical City. The study population consisted of (117) male and female nurses from the intensive care unit at Al-Hussein Medical City during the year 2020, while the number of the study sample reached (32) male and female nurses, and the members of the two groups were randomly assigned by (16) nurses in each group, the study approved On the semi-experimental approach, and in order to achieve the objectives of the study, the Burnout Scale was developed, an indicative program based on the cognitive-behavioral theory was built, and their psychometric properties were verified before their application. The average performance of the members of the experimental and control groups, on the post-burnout scale, where these differences are attributed to the counseling program and in favor of the experimental group, and the results of the study also showed that there are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (05.α = 0) between the average of the male ranks and the average ranks Females on the Burnout Dimensional Burnout Scale.
