Abstract
This article examines the Minor Initiatives Program for Civil Society Organisations in North Africa ,which is part of the regional strategy for the Mediterranean basin to address the challenges facing the global environment, by enhancing the technical, estimated and financial capabilities of civil society organizations to be able to develop innovative initiatives that address environmental and sustainable development issues at the local level in the framework for implementing national strategies and plans of action for the conservation and restoration of biological diversity, the sustainable management of natural resources and the mitigation of the negative impacts of climate change. The study method is a case study on the micro-initiatives program for civil society organizations in North Africa. The results of the study showed that this program is a promising opportunity for associations to obtain a good training for their members, enabling them to work seriously and effectively in the areas of sustainable local development. Also, associations have become carrying projects that address specific issues and problems at the local environment level, and funding the Small Initiatives Program for civil society organizations in North Africa allows the activation of local associations to carry out projects that are consistent with their goals in the field of environmental protection.
