Abstract

The study aimed to uncover the availability of community security dimensions in Islamic education curricula for grades (10-12) in the Sultanate of Oman and to develop some proposals to enrich them. The researchers used the descriptive and analytical approach. They also prepared a list of the community security dimensions. It was formed after verifying its validity and consistency from 171 indicators, distributed into 12 dimensions of community security. After that, they worked on analyzing the curricula to find out the extent of the dimensions in them. The study found: The availability of community security dimensions in Islamic education curricula for grades (10-12) in the Sultanate of Oman was not as expected. Also, it appeared in the grade (10) higher than the other two grades, while the grade (12) was the lowest one. Moreover, it showed that the most frequent dimensions of community security in the content of books were the religious dimension, followed by the social dimension with a slight difference. While the environmental dimension came very low, occupied the last rank after the technical dimension. In light of the previous results, the researchers recommend Benefiting from the results of this study to fill the defect existing in the dimensions of community security that appeared at a low level in Islamic education curricula for grades (10-12), and rebuilding or developing Islamic education curricula or building enrichment programs for them, to include the dimensions of community security in it and to measure its effectiveness in enhancing students' security awareness.
