The sample of the study consisted of (233) students, by using a convenience sampling. The questionnaire which was used (State /trait of Anxiety) “Spielberger & et.al” and it was distributed electronically. The results of the study showed that the degree of anxiety (state and trait) was “medium” and the percentage of those with a high prevalence of anxiety was 5.6%, 60.1% for the intermediate degree, and 34.3% for the low degree. There was a positive correlation between the prevalence of symptoms of anxiety state and anxiety trait. There was statistically significant relation between anxiety as a trait and (age, the social status, the monthly household income in shekels). Also, there was no significant relationship between anxiety as a state and (gender, the level of the monthly household income in shekels, social status), the researcher conducted multiple regression analysis and found an adverse relationship between these variables and the prevalence of anxiety symptoms as a state among the post graduate students in the Palestinian universities. The recommendations are to establish a psychological counseling center at the university that includes counseling and treatment programs for students who suffer from anxiety and work to improve the psychological state and reduce anxiety (status and trait).
