Abstract

This study aimed to know the correlation of body mass index and some physical and motor abilities and the percentage of their contribution to the digital level of short distance competitions for junior athletics course students. And this was done on a sample of (61) students from athletics courses, where the best time was taken (35) students for a distance of (100m), and the time of (26) students for a distance of (200m), and using the appropriate statistical analysis through the (SPSS) program. The Results of the study showed the existence of a strong statistically significant correlation for the variables of transitional speed, flexibility of the trunk muscles, explosive force of the muscles of the legs, length of the lower limb and the digital level of the competition (100 m) of sample, as well as the existence of a medium correlation for the strength characteristic of speed, and the absence of a relationship Statistically significant correlation to body mass index, and the results also showed a strong, statistically significant correlation for the flexibility variable of the trunk muscles and the numerical level of the competition (200 m), and a medium negative correlation for the body mass index and strength characteristic of speed, but it is not statistically significant, and the results also showed that the transitional speed came The highest percentage of contribution in the digital level of the competition (100m), followed by the flexibility of the muscles of the trunk, then the explosive force of the muscles of the legs, and the flexibility of the muscles of the trunk formed the highest percentage of the contribution of the digital level of the competition (200m).
